FEEDING

"If your baby is hungry, let him eat." Simple enough. Toss out the complicated schedules. Forget the "Well, she just ate an hour ago" and "We need to get him into routine's." Your newborn should be fed on demand, which means, eating whenever he/she wants. Babies are usually their own regulators, he/she will know when they're hungry and also know when they're full. It's not your stomach, it's theirs. Even though it's their stomach, a newborn obviously can't wander up to the canteen by himself/herself. Usually, crying is their way to hitch a ride to meal time. They depend on you for getting them to dinner. For example, in the first couple of months your baby will need to feed in the middle of the night. That means waking up your baby to feed if he/she decides to sleep in. Whether you breastfeed or bottlefeed your baby, feeding is an experience that will bond you and your baby.

Breast Feeding:
 
  • Mama's breasts are very nutritious.
  • I don't get sick too often from my mama's milk.
  • My mama's milk gives me immunities and antibodies.
  • Mama's milk is free!
  • My diaper sure isn't so stinky.
  • My mama's breast gives me closeness & comfort.
  • I can't have Mama's milk in certain public areas.
  • My Mama has to be by my side all the time, in case I get hungry.
  • Mama spends a lot of time using that breast machine.
  • Sometimes, Mama's breasts let out some of my milk, and it ruins her pretty shirts.
  • My Dada can't feed me his breast milk, so he has to let my Mama feed me all the time.
